The story of NYers and NJites still suffering is inconvenient. Obama, Christie, and Bloomberg have done their victory lap. The problem was handled. All we need to do is rhapsodize about how well FEMA handled everything since Bush wasn't in office. Never mind that they've done a WORSE job than during katrina.
