FWIW, here is how I am seeing the market play out over the next 3 weeks:

1. Post-election, we will see a pop. This should be sold into.
2. After a couple of days of meandering, we will see the market tank into the sub-1400s. There will be some fundamental news to justify the selloff - Greece, the fiscal cliff, legal challenges to the election, take your pick.
3. Going into Thanksgiving week is when we should start buying again. That should set us for a first class rally to close out the year.

The only thing true about making a market prediction is that the market makes a fool out of you. So I've made 3 of them above. We'll see what happens.

It's very interesting to see how this Octobers' "correction" followed the historical pattern, albeit later in the month this year. A resumption of the advance for the balance of 2012 would appear to be in the offing.
