Another licensee...this one PR'd...
Sierra Wireless, Inc. Purchases MMP Portfolio(TM) License

CARLSBAD, Calif., Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Patriot Scientific
Corporation (PTSC) announced today that Sierra Wireless, Inc. has purchased an
MMP Portfolio(TM) license. The agreement resolves the ITC Investigation and
District Court lawsuit recently filed against Sierra Wireless, an
industry-leading mobile computing and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications
products and solutions company. Sierra joins a roster of nearly 100 MMP Licensees
that include some of the world's largest electronics companies, including
Hewlett-Packard, Sony, Nokia, General Electric, ASUStek, and Philips.

In July, MMP Portfolio owners, Technology Properties Limited and Patriot
Scientific Corporation, launched the first wave of aggressive enforcement
activities, filing a complaint with the US International Trade Commission (ITC)
and corresponding complaints in the US District Court for the Northern District
of California against 13 companies believed to be infringing the MMP Portfolio
patents. Sierra Wireless is the first of the 13 companies to purchase an MMP
License.

The three-pronged enforcement strategy includes: (1) a Complaint filed with the
US ITC seeking an Exclusion Order prohibiting the importation of unlicensed
products; (2) parallel actions in US District Court seeking damages for past
infringement that includes past un-paid royalties -- plus the interest which has
accrued on those royalties -- both tripled for willful infringement, plus
attorney's fees; and, (3) the pursuit of injunctions in both the US District
Court and the ITC barring the sale of infringing products in the United States in
the future.

The remaining ITC respondents are: Acer Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Barnes & Noble
Inc., Garmin Ltd., HTC Corporation, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Kyocera
Corporation, LG Electronics, Nintendo Co. Ltd., Novatel Wireless Inc., Samsung
Electronics Co. Ltd., and ZTE Corporation.

CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Patriot Scientific Corporation (OTCBB: PTSC) today announced that the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued a notice that it will review, in part, the Administrative Law Judge's September 6, 2013 Initial Determination (ID) finding in regards to Patriot's US 5,809,336 ('336) patent. The ID was issued pursuant to an Investigation undertaken by the ITC in which Patriot and other complainants alleged violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act against multiple respondents.

Patriot is seeking an importation ban on certain wireless consumer electronics devices marketed for sale in the United States. Respondents remaining subject to the ITC Investigation include Barnes & Noble Inc., Garmin Ltd., HTC Corporation, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., LG Electronics, Nintendo Co. Ltd., Novatel Wireless Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., and ZTE Corporation. In the event Patriot prevails in the ITC review, the current target date by which the ITC could potentially issue an importation ban on infringing products is January 29, 2014.

"We are extremely pleased that the ITC has responded to our petition and has undertaken to review its ID finding," stated Cliff Flowers, Patriot's Interim Chief Executive Officer. "While the review will permit arguments to be further developed by both sides, we look forward to the opportunity to drive the ITC process to a positive resolution for Patriot."

Parallel proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California alleging infringement of Patriot's '749, '890 and '336 patents against the remaining ITC Respondents, excluding HTC, are currently stayed pending resolution of the ITC Investigation.

In October, Patriot announced that it had won its patent infringement lawsuit against HTC Corporation in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. HTC was found to infringe multiple claims of Patriot's '336 patent. The '336 patent is one of several patents that are part of a larger portfolio held by Patriot, known as the Moore Microprocessor Patent PortfolioTM.
