I'm sure there is some disagreement about it, but I think the country won on the marijuana legalization issue, because it signals the beginning of the end of this irrational prohibition which has destroyed so many lives and bred so much corruption within our law enforcement community. The prohibited status that makes it a black market item has taken so many kids down the path to other, more dangerous drugs and contact with people who had just as soon blow your brains out as look at you. A small, silver lining in what otherwise looks like a very black cloud.
