I wonder how many people this will affect? How many more families will need govt assistance?

They got the memo from Axelrod, that this wasn't to be announced until after the election.

3:14 PM In an effort to reduce costs, Boeing ( BA -2%) announces a major restructuring of its defense division. The nation's second-largest defense contractor plans to cut 30% of its management positions from 2010 levels, close facilities in California and consolidate several business units. The cuts are aimed at saving the company an additional $1.6B through 2015.

During Grey Davis' tenure as governor, Boeing was the largest employer in California
