It has been a vivid reminder how important the Voting Rights Act was and still is for true democracy in this country. Like all of that controversial legislation from the 60's, it has stood the test of time remarkably well.

It appears the voter suppression efforts, combined with the Obama team's ground game backfired on the
Repubs big time. Good turnouts from minorities and under 30 voters yet again.
And the huge vote deficit the GOP got from Hispanic voters is a big deal. I feel a bit more optimistic :)
Democrats just need to take back some state legislatures, or the gerrymandering will continue and affect the makeup of the House.
