"This nails it -- how people will sell out their future, and their children's future, to any Santy-Claus

politician who promises them freebies and more freebies...." (my friend Bob N.)

From an article in the Prague newspaper, Prager Zeitungon:

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president."

Did somebody say, that all Europe is socialistic? Those guys in Prag and other locations behind the legacy iron curtain had enough of it and learned a lesson.

The color code on that map is wrong. Most of the red states get more government funds than they pay in income tax. Primarily because they tend to be poor. Texas is about the only exception, despite having some large military bases. Sounds like your takers to me. The blue states tend to pay more in income tax than they get in federal funds. Sounds like makers doesn't it?.

In addition, to get anywhere close to 50% you have to include students, the retired, the disabled and active duty military. While I suppose you could label the disabled as moochers, that seems rather harsh. Besides, they are called disabled because they are unable to do many normal tasks associated with work. If we don't euthanize them, what do we do with them? Have them bankrupt their families? That just kicks the can down the road. What happens to them then? Students, well an educated population is what we need. The retired? I guess they are moochers too. Active duty military? Are you serious?
