Well coopie do you still own some ZRAN? CUBE should have had a really good shot at that slot, but didn't get it. Why? Here is an excerpt from the release.......Addressing the needs of today's competitive market, the Vaddis decoder implements Zoran's SiliconSoftware(TM) architecture, based on a high-performance DSP technology for enhanced flexibility and programmability. This architecture enables DVD player manufacturers to add features enabling them to differentiate their products. For example, 3D sound can be implemented on the Vaddis decoder as a SiliconSoftware application simultaneously with the required DVD And here is the Sharp link about all the proprietary technology that they laid on top of it and hope to control. Would this have been possible with ZiVA? sharp.co.jp Any thoughts out there why CUBE couldn't claim this socket for a ZiVA? I hope that there are some very cool things on the other side of that 8 ft. wall that will suprise the frustrated SI faithful, and those that can get in to see them.
