RE:The examples of Greece and California don't seem to be enough for them.

With few exceptions, the people who live in California haven't the least notion about what is going on in the rest of the nation, never mind the rest of the world.

Very easy to elaborate, but unnecessary for this thread. You all already know it.

It's already been stated here before - what happens in California leaks and infects the rest of the country.

It finally hit me what happened and it really depresses me. I may feel it in 10 years, if I live that long, but my kids and grandkids are the ones who are going to bear the awful result of what our generation was incapable of preventing.

Didn't read Tom Brokaw's book, The Greatest Generation, but even he, a big Lib, recognized the enormous contribution and sacrifice that our parents and grandparents made for us. Too bad we didn't have the courage and enough of their stuff to pass on to our kids and grandkids.

Did I just blame us? Yep.

When was the last time anyone of us got involved with our grammar schools to prevent the indoctrination that is taking place with our kids.

When did we stand up to those freaking unions that are robbing us of our future and stand up to those teachers who are warping our kids minds?

An ole Pol from New York (I think) once said: "All politics are local."

So is education.

I've been thinking it would be wise to give Dems and Obama everything they want budget wise. Hasten the speed of the crash in the economy for which Obama will get full credit, so people start begging for Republicans to repair it and we can start rebuilding.Let the public see what it is like when Dem plans are implemented. The examples of Greece and California don't seem to be enough for them.

The US is teetering on the edge now and Obama brought us a large part of the way the past four years, so maybe it is appropriate that Democrats own the results, but I'm not looking forward to it.

Hasten the speed of the crash in the economy for which Obama will get full credit...

I'm all for doing this. There is no way around a crash. The sooner the better - I'd like to have a life afterwards rather than see it slowly bleed away for the next 20 years.
