I read somewhere that the indian population holds 18000 tons of gold, making them by far the largest holders of gold in the world, much more than the US 8000 tons....thought that was an interesting item...and of course, we are not talking about indian central bank here, this is individual indians....

"Asian" as an ethnicity is so broad it's only a step away from calling "human" an ethnicity. Japanese, Chinese and Iranian are all "Asian" and we could add Indian too [a billion people is a lot to omit ], but they are not the same ethnicity.

Over half the people on Earth are Asian, so it's hardly surprising that they are the largest "ethnic group" immigrating to the USA.
