Why? What is so special about 4 years? Sometimes it takes decades for lending to return to normal levels. The last real estate bubble we have had was The Long Depression. I will let you guess how it got its name. It was primarily in Europe, so we came out of it pretty quick. In fact, we had yet another panic before it ended.

The only thing that could cause trouble that we can project is if Europe gets worse. If that doesn't happen, the next 12 months will be much better.

S. CA went into a great recession in the early 90s. It took a good 7-8 years for it to return to a stabilized place.....and that was mostly due the earthquake they had in 1994. However, twenty years later, its never returned to the economy it had before the early 1990s.

The American recovery is doing remarkably well considering its only 4 years out and that Europe is going back into a second recession.

CJ,

The original causes of the recession, namely the credit crisis, are long gone.

You claim credit for predicting that inflation didn't run away like i-node and I thought it would, but the reason why is because "stimulus" ... didn't.

The economy continues to be on long-term life-support, which suits the incumbents just fine until people realize that the drug is doing more harm than good.

yeah, he can't blame you-know-who anymore, so now it is going to be Europe.
