No idea, but this was not entirely unexpected. I stupidly didn't short WDC to hedge my QNTM long, although I was actively thinking about it (as well as KMAG short). WDC had the most to lose from this situation since they operate mostly in the "hurt zone" (low-end disk drives). They also have no DLT like QNTM or software like SEG.

SEG tried some indirect damage control by giving a press release saying how great their network backup software is.

Why on earth won't QNTM just talk up their DLT? If QNTM doesn't do anything, we will drop probably $1 to $2, probably much of it on opening. And if there *is* anything wrong, QNTM should just say it since we will be hurt today regardless.

I'm just sick of losing money due to every competitor describing problems multiple times. Guess SEG is in for a second warning too since that is their custom.

Time to dig your heels in longs.
