I think sea otter may be a bit TOO far left for my taste, but I also think that your reply to him may be a bit TOO excessive. I for one think that requiring EVERYBODY to have health insurance is a good thing. Why should I have to pay for people with NO insurance to have every procedure available? A homeless guy on the street can go to an emergency room and get heart surgery and I have to pay for it? I'm not sure what you mean by "authoritarian" government. I don't like "red tape" and the "nanny state" either but I DO like clean water and clean air.
