However, Sea Otter statement that was that we (the right) ignore scientific evidence of global warming.

Science is about rigorously and objectively following where discovery, evidence and trial and error lead. And for the most part, that's the credo adhered to by the vast majority of scientists.

Where science goes off the rails is when it falls into the influence of religion and/or the political arena. Those who deny the reality of evolution, in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, is one example of religion being injected into science.

Climate science, which is in its infancy, has unfortunately left the barn of objective discovery and has become thoroughly politicized and quasi religious in nature. When the public is pummeled by the media and leftist greenies with pronouncements that every change in the weather is the result of human ("evil" modern industrial energy powered civilization) caused climate change, and the majority of scientists in this field of study relying on funding that will dry up if they don't "preach to the choir", then it's time to kiss objective science "goodbye".

And even as politics trumps science in this field, the fact remains that economics will trump ideology. Without reliable and affordable sources of energy, living standards and civilization will inevitably decline. People won't give a damn about all the greenie apocalyptic yammerings when the heat goes off and the lights go out..

And those who believe that modern civilization can be powered by windmills and Solyndras in some sort of green utopia are on the same level of reality as Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy..
