More about the Surface. Last two nights I worked on the Minnesota Opera production of Anna Bolena. I took the opportunity to ask as many people as I could about the Surface. The reactions I got ranged from, "I stopped listening after you said 'Microsoft'," to puzzled looks. Nobody had a positive thing to say about it, nobody would buy it. Not the lighting techs and designers who work with Windows machines, not the sound techs and designers who also work with Windows machines, not the performers, not the wig and makeup people, nobody in the small and large prop shops, nobody in the costume shop. Nobody. Methinks that anyone who believes the Surface will be a success is a dreamer.
