"That is not a fact in evidence. It may just be that incidents went unreported."

wrong there wasn't any underground talk about it.

in the 60s the boys were talking about it to each other, If I told my dad he would have killed me, but the boys were telling stories. They weren't in the 30s and 40s so it didn't come up later when those kids grew up unlike the 60s when those kids grew up they reported it

The second one is that molestation is not a natural result of a denial of normal sexual activity.
That is correct, and also incorrect.

The reason there are so many cases of molestations by priests, is due to one thing - access.

They get access by virtue of their position, and the 'trust' the position bestows on the individual in the position. .

Also, 'molestation' is not a 'natural' result of anything, but an 'unnatural' result of the inappropriate sexual urges experienced by the molester, or, actually, it is a result of the molester acting on those urges.

It is certainly true that a disproportionate percentage of priests are molesters, because they knowingly sought the position in order to be able to have the access necessary to provide them an outlet for their urges.

Are same-sex molesters homosexual?

My theory is they are actually better described as "try-sexual". They will "try" anything sexual that happens to pop into their minds.

They do have their preferences, as to male or female victims, but in a pinch they will frequently molest outside their normal patterns and preferences.

A true child molester, though, does definitely have very discriminating age preferences. One who prefers molesting teen age boys, for example, could very likely be a very trustworthy babysitter for infants of either sex, and would most likely feel genuine disdain for 'baby molesters'.

It is a complicated set of circumstances. Very complicated, and difficult for anyone not a molester themselves to understand. That's is why we often have false ideas about the mentality of these individuals, similar to the way in which we cannot really understand what truly motivates someone to rob a bank or kill someone for money.
