and that begs the question, WHY did patraeus accept the move to CIA? from all reports he isn't exactly a man of hubris...but imo, that's exactly what you need to subject yourself to the lie detector test and background check while conducting an affair....

RE: FBI agents on the case were aware that such a decision had been made to hold off on forcing him out until after the election and were outraged.

Hard to believe they were that outraged. There wasn't even a hint about the affair, yet hundreds of people had to know about it. And not one little drop of a leak.
