Only in this case it's more like one step forward 8 steps back...

One of the problems as I see it was that we became our own worst enemies. If we would have stuck with the contract with America and conservative principles, we probably would have consolidated our gains. The Republican party kept moving to the left and many became advocates of more spending. The majority of Americans believe in smaller government. Some things that must happen:

1) Get a lot better at articulating and clarifying our message.
2) Educating the populace
3) Nullify the MSM
4) Create our own mechanism to "get out our vote"and insure fair elections - mobilize
5) Stop playing the game on their terms
6) Create a better nominating process
7) Seek to break the liberals hold on minorities - not by abandoning our principles but by strengthening those in which we share a common bond (i.e. many inner city parents like the concept of school choice)

Just a few thought off the top of my head - most have already been articulated in same way on this thread.
