He did indeed have prostate cancer three years ago:

The question is how much radiation did they use. Sometimes prostate cancer does not cause impotence, but the treatment does, according to Webmd: webmd.com
Sep 22, 2012 – Prostate cancer is not a cause of erectile dysfunction (or ED). However, treatments for the disease can cause it.
