Strikes me that senators of the opposite party might make very bad Secretaries of State (the Lugar idea). They are too used to being loners. If in the same party and with some serious national ambitions (assumed) they might do well (Clinton). Kerry seems well suited as well since he's always been very much the party man. I hope that Huntsman is just a thought floated out to get beaten up. And that happens. I like the idea, actually, of Chuck Hagel as defense secretary better than this one.
