Why do you think scorched earth tactics work for Democrats but not Republicans? It's because, in a nutshell, Democrat ideology allows them to divide-n-conquer.

That's how Democrats can give virtual amnesty to illegal immigrants, yet not piss off unions who would most likely lose because of the competition for jobs.

That's how Democrats can bail out huge corporations like GM and huge banks, yet still embrace Occupy Wall Street and its anti-corporate message.

That's how Democrats can force religiously-affiliated institutions to give out free contraception, yet still get the vast majority of the black vote even though many black pastors voiced their concerns over the matter.

That's how Democrats can appeal to the anti-war movement, yet still keep Gitmo open, still be in Afghanistan, and even brag about killing Osama bin Laden.

Can you imagine any Republican supporting such hypocritical positions without getting chewed out from the mainstream media and from ideological conservatives? Even George W. Bush was criticized by fellow Republicans for deficits that were above $400B a year. Obama promised to reduce the deficit by half, yet when he didn't, did you see ONE Democrat criticize him for it? Of course not.

And I can find no fault with those statements.

Blinders much?

Divide and conquer. You mean like the politics of envy that was used against unions? What about the blood sucking 47%? That doesn't sound very inclusive to me. Or how school teachers are just lazy blood suckers?

Why do you think blacks, hispanics and asians vote overwhelmingly Democratic? Don't you think that being a scapegoat sort of shows them what the Republicans think about them?

If you think the Republicans haven't perfected the art of divide and conquer, you haven't been paying attention.
