Your hope is Americanism with all it's putrid idols and false mythologies and Jewish fables That's a good enough example of why the foundations of a prosperous and civil society are so difficult to sustain. Childish moral intuitions supplant a gimlet-eyed examination of the processes that brought us from a situation where life really was nasty, brutish, and short. Understanding the wellsprings of progress is a huge undertaking. In the absence, beneficiaries of what was once Americanism have the luxury of thinking in silly phrases that seem to have meaning.
