I bought a Dell online, which didn't work right out of the box and it took several hours of talking to someone outside the country to finally give me the proper ok (the right numbers) to return it. I would never recommend a Dell to anyone.

It was such a frustrating and stressful experience that I felt as if I'd gone through a divorce, lost my job, got evicted and had to give a public speech all at the same time.

If you can send your DOA Dell XPS back, do yourself a huge favour and get rid of it immediately.

Cooperation and trying to get the thing fixed will prolong your agony until the full refund period ends, then you're stuck!

Cheers, PW.

P.S. I've bought a few Dell machines over the years and had no trouble with any of them. For the most part, you get good value for your money.

Thank you to everyone that shared their Dell experiences with me.

I contacted Newegg last night and they were very cooperative. They are going to replace the system which I repacked last night and dropped off at the UPS store this morning.

I cancelled the service tech visit that Dell had scheduled to install a new hard drive.

I hope to have better success this time. If not, then I will start my search for a new system again.

B.K.

p.s. So far I am very pleased with Newegg customer support (not their fault that I received a defective system).
