Al, why do you believe tax rates should be increased on the wealthy?

Obviously, it doesn't make even a slight dent in the deficit problem. So, what is the underlying reason for increasing those tax rates?


I actually think that they should be increased for everyone...my idea would be to extend the bush tax cuts for another couple of years, index expiration to some GDP growth rate but abolish them immediately for anyone making 250K or greater. We need revenue desperately...if you try and tame deficits by spending cuts alone you'll put the country on the path to depression.
