Did Dinosaurs Break the Sound Barrier? nytimes.com

Well, this isn't particularly germaine to anything, just Nathan Myhrvold staying out of trouble. At least I hope it takes his mind off theorizing about all those Nixon era dirty tricks being played on poor, defenseless Microsoft. Maybe when Bill said the dinosaurs were bankers, he was talking about these really, really fast dinosaurs that Nathan gave him a sneak peak at.

Cheers, Dan.

Netscape draws the line in browser wars www5.zdnet.com

More stuff about Marc Andreesen and the exciting new products. Well, actually not, just a rehash, along with some debate about browser share numbers. We shall see.

Cheers, Dan.

More server software from MS news.com

Well there you go. Microsoft ships software! NT5 and Win98 ain't everything, I guess.

The Microsoft Internet Finance Server Toolkit, formerly code-named Marble, is a software bundle intended to allow banks and other institutions to build applications for delivering financial services to their customers. The toolkit, based on Windows NT Server, enables applications that allow bank customers to pay bills, check account balances, transfer funds, and view banking and brokerage statements online, the company said.

Now all Bill's got to do is get the bankers to trust him. (see the message this is responding to)

Cheers, Dan.

Dan, good link. Your zdnet.com
link helps explain why suddenly the WSJ, the Nightly Business Report, and many other investor shows and periodicals suddenly are giving time and ink to The Ilk.

Last night ABC News had an interview with BG on 'the topic' and actually confronted him a bit. He didn't look too comfortable, used to dealing with computer rag flacks as he is. (And to a student of NLP and similar tell-reading discipines, what a gesture-feast he provided!) Of course, I saw this at 3AM. Don't know if it made the regular show.

Wall street has finally realized that The Bill is coming after them, and ABC seems to have too.
