Even if ATML's business tempers slightly, it hardly merits a price drop from the high 30's to the low 20's. This is a great opportunity for bargain hunters.

This market is so darn fickle. One day no one wants to own technology and the sky is falling. The very next day everybody loves technology and the sun is shining. While ATML has experienced some business swings over the last few years, it is nowhere near as dramatic as its stock price. Buy now, stick it under your mattress, and given the sky really doesn't fall, you'll be happy you did. Or if you are a little more daring buy some Jan 99 calls.

Gee, what are "so-called" programmable logic chips and how do they differ from just regular programmable logic chips? Could this mean that Altera is losing marketshare? (My company stopped using them last year in favor of Xilinx). There are probably a lot of bargins to be had soon!
