The answer is yes they would if they opted to. Mutual Funds have access to cash at any given time of the year whenever a buyin opportunity should arise in the market.

At last weekends Gold Show in San Fran. Bishop warned that Fund Managers will tighten up the kitty purse when it comes to buyin into minning plays. Fund managers and minning analysts will be very selective as to who they jump into bed with from now on. See Egizio Bianchini of Nesbitt on this one!
