I know you think so, but do you have anything like proof?

Unions resulted in a 40 hour work week, paid vacation and was an important component in the rise of the middle class. Since unions have declined, so has the middle class, coupled with a shift of income and wealth upwards.. Sure, correlation is not causation, but a strong argument can be made that there is linkage.
