Its a mid range computer, maybe just a bit higher than mid range, but its not 2000 bucks or more like the gaming machines they have. Plus 17.3 inch screen, if you used 15.6 and go to 17.3 screen, its a big difference. There are less expensive ones, you just have to browse the lineup. If you don't want Windows 8, you have to make sure you can customize the model to add Windows 7. Lots of the computers are now just Windows 8. Thats if you don't want Windows 8.
