Mass schooling gives people a sense that they don't need to learn by themselves. Stop learning at the age of 16 for high school or age of 22 if going to university.
I have always maintained there are two types of people, city people and country people. Country people tend not to panic and can figure things out while city people remain hopelessly confused and wait for someone to lead the way.
