I have to disagree Ice, I think they have marketed their stock very
effectively. Just ask the Saudi Prince. In fact, as soon as the price
reaches the point the Prince considers a deal, I will buy again.
Will have to wait till it is officially announced though. I don't have
any insider info.

I don't post very often but I have been following this thread since August of '96 and the Motley Fool board (prior to the arrival of the annoying Planelane) dating back to April of '96.

The fact is, I doubt there are many on this board who have actually seen any of Brocade's marketing material (or Ancor's for that matter). While it's true that press releases are an effective marketing tool for the retail stock market, i.e. the readers of this thread, press releases don't sell network managers or the corporate I.S. folks who sign the purchase orders. They want price/performance.

The fact is, we're not talking some commodity like Zip drive's here where sales are measured in the hundreds of thousands or even millions of units. The market is considerably smaller and the end-user more discerning; consequently, comparing Syquest/Iomega to Ancor/Brocade is fairly ludicrous.

Like everyone else who is long I am concerned with the price of the stock but as near as I can tell, the fundamentals haven't changed and I will continue to grit my teeth and hope that my gamble with this risky little stock pays off. My biggest fear is that someone like Cisco or Ascend will come along and buy them out before they have a chance to grab a share of the burgeoning market. This fear has already been realized on one of my other stocks but perhaps when TI pays me for my Amati shares I will risk a few more dollars here.

Steve, I think George makes a good point about knowing customers reqs.
The last press/article I remember reading clearly stated that they (long day - brains dead) don't remember who they were, but they went to Brocade because "Brocade knows the entertainment/film industry". Here is another example where Ancor could have made hay with their previous work in Independence day.
