Thank you for the prompt reply. Your comments seem to support my views on the current vs. future situations in the exploration sector. The company that I am considering the IPO in has contracts signed for 4 years on 4 rigs and they are building an additional 4 rigs that they already have 3 year contracts signed on. Their stability seems to be there and with 14,600+ well licences issued to date
( http://www/nicoles.com ), there seems to be no real reponse to the past or present legislation changes. Indeed the market appears to be very inelastic at this point and I believe that it continue to be so in the next 1-2 years. Alberta's economy is the envy of many provinces and shows no sign of slowing down.

David, thank you for the history lesson as I don't remember the 80's as I am just a young buck really getting rolling into the stock market.

Kerm, I agree with you that the next 12 months will prove promising and I wouldn't be suprised at all to see new peaks again in the indexes of the TSE, ASE & VSE. In particular, I forsee a large number of juniors in the coming year entering the Energy Sector on the ASE. I live in Alberta foothills and have ties to the Energy Sector and in our municipality alone, we are expecting over 500 new wells this year alone.
