He can't emigrate to NZ if he is older than 55. Plus, he needs to have skills they want. You can retire there on temp 2 year basis and keep getting extensions. You need some cash though to invest in NZ. Where are you going, North or South Island? There is a Mt. Fuji looking volcano on North Island. Not to mention penguin rookeries and a mini-dolphin. Abalone are in shallow water and there are no restrictions on collecting them. Not clear yet what itinerary, but we are going to visit an old HS teacher of my wife's who has a house there and wants us to use his bungalow on the beach...that's on the south island. Al
