I'm almost through Haight's THE RIGHTEOUS MIND. I find it fascinating, think it illuminates the horrid deficiencies in the moral disease known as liberalism. Stripped to the essence Haidt confirms the observation that liberals are motivated almost solely by feelings. That leaves them unable to assimilate hard evidence that conflicts with their intuited conclusions. Progessivism is ascendant here, despite the abundant and increasing evidence that it delivers stagnation at best and more probably ruin. Eventually reality will intrude sufficiently and West, Palin, and FOX will gain more general appreciation. But history suggests that remnants of this infection will survive. Not unlike syphilis.
