Perhaps -- when you're trying to eliminate 1.5 Trillion deficits in an economy that has been destroyed by screwed up economic policy, a 25 or 30 year plan to balance the budget -- while addressing SS & Medicare -- is a pretty damned serious plan imo. Lopping a few billion off deficits while further damaging the economy isn't. The simple truth is you cannot conceivably balance the budget without fixing Medicare & SSN and Obama ran on the idea of leaving these liberal social programs intact.
