I will grant you that back in the 1970s it was commonly believed that raising the minimum wage would increase unemployment. And some of those early studies seemed to indicate that. But as more rigorous studies were done, it proved not to be the case.

Your 80/20 split was from a survey in 1992. Later surveys show lower numbers, primarily because of the newer studies. Now you might like the older studies because they reinforce your personal beliefs. But if you look at the data objectively instead of filtering everything through your partisan lens, it is a different world.

Why do we take economists so seriously?They have no foresight, no hindsight, and little humanity. Are they really the best people to lead us out of this crisis?
