MARKET TALK: Devon Energy Could Be Dead Money Until 2014
2:33 PM ET 11/20/12 | Dow Jones

14:33 EST - Devon (DVN) is down nearly 1/3 the past 8 months, and Morgan Stanley doesn't see the oil-and-gas producer's stock going anywhere next year as it starts coverage at equal-weight and sets a $55 price target. "Operational setbacks have significantly hurt DVN's 2013 growth outlook, and we believe its large exposure to weaker pricing for gas, [natural-gas liquids" and heavy oil will challenge the shares." Instead, the investment bank calls DVN a 2014 story, saying 5% production growth is possible then after the potential of none next year. DVN is down 1.8% today at $52.54, putting the month's drop at 9.7%.
