I agree that there is plenty of reason for concern for this quarter. All of the "positive" FUD that's been coming out about 'flex ports shipped is a two edged sword. A large portion of those ports are free, and the rest are probably heavily discounted. That will represent only modest revenue with an associated high cost of sales.

I assure you that ASND will meet the consensus estimate of $0.23 for the 4th qtr ending 12/97 with relative ease. The revenue will be cut-off at approximately $290 MM to build back log for subsequent quarters. Wanna bet ? When was the last time the Jets guaranteed a win over the Colts in the Super Bowl ?
CS's problem is co's specific not industry wide. Otherwise, CSCO would be hit as well.

<<I believe that we could see ASND act like CS did today when they release their earnings. Its not worth taking the risk to stay invested in ASND for now.ASND could see a bottom in the mid-teens.>>

IF ASND misses their # we will be spanked hard and ASND will see teens. However, this is a big IF..........................

Are you:

A) Unaware that officers of ASND have stated confidence with the quarter on several occasions.

B) Believe that Michael Ashby and Bernie Schneider are lying to the media and shareholders when they have stated that ASND will make the numbers for the quarter and all of next year?

C) Are aware of the above, but choose to disregard or ignore it.

D) The wheels have truly fallen off since these statements were made and an earnings warning is forthcoming. (I've seen nothing to support this, and to the contrary there is reason to believe that things may be going quite well this Q)

E) Are short the stock, so you indiscriminately ASND bash in the absence of any data to support your position.

After the credibility issue ASND has been suffering from since the 8K fiasco I believe that the likelihood of ASND missing numbers (.23 @ 290M) is extremely remote. Ashby , Schneider, Ejabat and co. would appear complete fools under this scenario.
