Just exactly how large of a gov apparatus are you willing to pay for in order to accomplish all of what you want ?

And as an aside .... How will you stop said gov from wasting trillions more than what the real costs are ?

In the real world gov intervention in anything results in exactly what you are complaining about.

High costs for all.
