Re: Free market

It's the only market system that is capable of being operated morally.

The 2008 meltdown was the housing crisis more than anything and that stemmed almost entirely from the government requiring high risk loans for people buying more house than they could afford. With that in mind, universal healthcare is even more ambitious. At least with the bad home loans, we were able to reevaluate the loan process, but with Obamacare, it's an entitlement that is going to leave very little room for changes.

What I meant by "free markets" was markets UNREGULATED by reasonable regulations or ethics.

Markets where bankers can hand out mortgages to ANY clown that can lie and sign their name and then just pass that bad paper on to the next guy after it's been rated AAA by a ratings agency that's in the bank's back pocket.

That kinda "Free" market almost brought down the entire world's financial system.

And NOBODY goes to jail for that. They not only don't go to jail, they just go on collecting their $10 million a year.
