It's funny how deflation continues to be the boogeyman you keep bringing up, because never in the history of the American economy was rampant deflation ever a concern, even in the midst of recessions or even The Great Depression.
Sigh. This sentence is full of fail.

We have had many periods of deflation. Including during the Great Depression. In fact, it was one of the factors which lengthened the Great Depression.

Recessions usually don't last long enough for this to be a factor.
