Semis are devastated and are now tax-loss selling candidates. SOX cannot hold a true uptrend until tax selling is over and the Asian flu is contained. The effects of the flu will not be clear for a couple of months.

Steve- Sox was heavily sold yesterday after Kurlaks negative comments, the instituitonal following Kurlak has does give his views an edge over anyone else. I think that correction is fully priced in the market and I will see some consolidation on these levels, until last week we were not even sure if there is any leadership left in the entire market, market punishes shorts with its own justice for me the earnings will be great- and ASEAN fall out is not going to dislodge market for making new highs, the problem I have is that if you don't take advantage of moves like this you are out of the market and seeing your option put preminms eroding, someone who had 900 puts fopr Dec will tell you that 4$ is 15% of what he must have paid just 10 days ago. I will look at MSFT IBM and SOX a break of 285 on SOX 140 on MSFT and IBM 105 and I buy SP 920 by selling 980's= you don't need to short the market at lows you need to do it at new highs.
