Some feel that high taxes are a great way to punish those wealthy bast*>&rds; you know, anyone making more than a hundred-or-two-thousand-dollars per year. You know that the wealthy can afford to pay more ... jack their taxes up!!

Well that's a big humbling part of it to make sure you know your "place", but I think the second part is to make sure that nobody except lottery winners can cross the trillionaire family threshold. Remember there was no income tax before 1913. Any family that was wealthy based on assets before 1913 never paid incomes taxes on their great fortures in the Robber Baron Days. As long as they don't sell their assets and make their heirs joint owners while they are still alive, no taxes. Taxation prevents upward mobility.
