Can't understand how they can make 'musicals' out of tragic or horror stories. That in itself is a newer development, I think. If the singer was from American Idol you know he had to be good. The use of excessive special effects is the tail wagging the dog. In the arty world of set and costume design, they are a ** (help me with the word) unto themselves.
