I am only 50, I may end up going Galt sooner or later. If they start raiding IRA's to force purchase of T Bills it may happen sooner. Once my income goes to more than 50% for tax payments why bother. I can find a low cost of living area and retire living off my IRA with hopefully low enough income to get subsidized Obamacare coverage. I have a decent income now, but work is a meat grinder and I doubt I would last to 65 in this line of work. Perhaps consulting part time of the year to avoid early retirement IRA withdrawals. But clearly the system is being set up to clean out the producers and support the others.I am not going to ruin my health at work to pay high taxes. We can avoid Obamacare better retired taking care of my health.
