I think it dropped down there for a minute or two around mid day...I was lucky enough to get some at 24.5. Let's just hope it rises from here.

Quantum's CEO, CFO and some of the IR department are in San Diego at a Deutch Morgan Grenfeld (sp?) investment analysts conference meeting with the hob nobs of the investment community and giving a presentation. I hope this isn't another case of high-tech managment speaking to investment analysts first and then announceing a few days latter of a disastrous turn in expectations. Over 8 million shares traded so far makes me suspect that the analysts/institutions have been cued into something. Oh well, we small investors are just dung under the heels of the machinations of corporate boards and the investmetn community anyway - what more could we expect?

Now the question is, how deep and how long will the blood letting go on? Is managemnet going to let the average investor in on the secrets they are telling the parriahs in the investment community? I suspect maybe after more sell-off.

Or, this could still be just a scare precipitated by other's troubles and waiting for a clearing of the air. I tried to find out when Quantum was making their presentation and who they were meeting with in private sessions but got nowhere with the CFO's office and only a recorded message in IR. If we found out that Quantum has yet to present and that they have yet to hold many private meetings with analysts, then it becomes more likely that the downward spiral is fear and speculation. If Quantum management has made their presentation and had extensive dinner/breakfast meetings with influential institutional investors and analysts, then the chances are that they have cued them into a bleaker picture than we poor slobs are aware of.

Anyone else have any knowledge of what's going on at the DMG conference?
