What you posted is what many many many of us would like to happen. It was encouraging to see some on the Sunday talk show circuit say that they would not abide by the "no tax pledge" they made to Grover Norquist. Obama is a pretty level headed person and I am sure he realizes that there is ample room for improvement in the health care law. But I am sure people are OK with his refusing to negotiate with those who publicly profess opposition to the law.

And some stray thoughts:

I am very hopeful that the moderates in the Republican party would soon take the upper hand and set aside the belligerency of the Tea Party. The Tea Party realizes that the handwriting is on the wall with defeat of some of their star Congress members. The Sunday talk shows have struck a positive tone and Monday's stock market will demonstrate a sense of optimism, I am sure.

It would be wise for us to avoid another Civil War. Bu it looks like no improvement over the past 150 years, not enough anyway. Fighting each other only keeps us from improving our common lot. I, for one, am for improvement and getting along.

I want to see the Dems in control of the congress, both houses, and the presidency for the next 20 years. Like under FDR.

There is nothing on the right except bullshit. They cannot even identify reality, and certainly do not use or apply moder social science to their ideas, so what do they have to contribute?
