Inter alia, what about keeping COLA, but cut payments 1 or 2% a year off the top for the next 10 years? Most people would agree to take 10-20% less, over time, rather than get nothing. I would.

Medicare - yes, a huge problem. I was hoping that Ryan's plan would become reality. Sounded interesting. Without some real skin in the game on the part of the beneficiaries, the demand - and the abuse - will continue to trend towards infinity.
