Are you also closing out your gold and silver longs?

The GULP became an UGH. SMILE. Causing your optimism to give way for the moment. Kudo's.

Longs often forget RARELY do you miss an opportunity to BUY. There are always opportunities to buy.

It's knowing when to SELL or to lock those profits in.

On the flip side there are always opportunities to go short. Just don't be doing it when a market is wiped out showing a bell curve at 3 and a historical low as was the case in 2009.

Or when a stock is a screaming buy as Wynn was and many others were in 2009.

Now we are at 1400ish, up from 1150 ish last year this time.

Just from a % perspective and considering who is exposed on the short side as we approach 2013 Jan expirations one might ponder will the lean be to pull em down closer to that spx 1150 and if so what % down work. OR will there be some force buyins to push the spx UP crushing those exposed lower?

Given the sensitivity of the world I lean protecting countries will prevail. And why I kicked out JAN 13 calls long ago. It's amazing how they close them at or under strikes.

Have a great day.
