It will also be very unusual for Congress to let a lame duck session to implement more than a kick than can solution, as they want to get the credit to carry them into the 2014 elections. I have lobbyist friends who are working on both sides of the issue and they say it is like the Hatfields and MCoys with arguments within each family. The moderate republicans want to take power from the right side, so they need to fix their internal issues first before they worry about the fiscal cliff.
